Become a Volunteer

Towcester Museum is now recruiting volunteers for a number of roles connected with running the museum that’s planned to open this October.

Become a Volunteer!

Volunteers will join a friendly, dedicated and enthusiastic team and all will receive training and on-going support. Volunteer Museum Assistants, Museum Team Leaders and an Education Visits’ Coordinator are just some of the roles to be filled.

Commenting Volunteers’ Coordinator Martin Johns said: “This is a great opportunity for people to help provide a first class local museum. Volunteers will meet people from all walks of life, have the chance to make new friends, develop their communication skills, enjoy new experiences and both learn more of the rich history of Towcester and share their knowledge.”

The Museum is in Whitehorse Yard, close to Richmond Road car park. It will trace the history of the town from the Iron Age, through the Roman period, Civil War, Coaching era, and up to modern times. The museum will contain a wide range of facinating artefacts, models, and exhibits, some of national importance.

The museum is expected to open Wednesday to Saturday (10am - 4pm) and will encourage group visits from schools and others. It will have a small gift shop, and local tourist information.
